Yes, I want to cut the front part off, but plug the holes with a rubber stopper found at Lowe's. I just wonder if the section between the holes when cut will need to be sealed. I think if you stay 1/16" off the actual intake tube, the joint will remain sealed. Leaving only the two holes needing to be plugged.

I was at Lowe's today looking for the 2 foot section of 3" ABS plastic tubing and could find it anywhere. Even had the plumbing guys help me out and nothing. Where's it at??

I did this mod last year to my 5.4L. I totally cut the baffle off and plugged the holes with rubber expandable freeze plugs I picked up from my local automotive parts supplier. Yes, it is sealed in between the holes. There are a total of three holes that need plugged.
