Question Decided on the Super 40s - But offset????

So, after everyone's input I decided to go with a SI/SO Super 40 muffler... just going to replace the OE muffler in my 09 F-150 (4.6L), leaving the pipe/tip stock.

Ready to order the muffler, but which inlet/outlets do I need to look for?? I don't know if I need offset or not??

Also, would it be 2.5" in and 2.5" out?? Part number?

Thanks for the help!!

I think you would need an offset inlet, centered outlet. I haven't studied a 2009s exhaust though. I know the 5.4Ls have 2.75" pipe, so in that case I would order a 3" in/out muffler. I would suggest you look under your truck and measure the pipe size, and look at the in/out offsets on the muffler and judge.

Cool

DarrenWS6 - thanks for the reponse! Been looking through the forums (new here) and you seem to give out loads of good advice!!

So I am going with a Super 44, like you suggested... I got under my truck last night and the inlet & outlet are both on the same side. I also measured the pipe and you are correct, it is also 2.75". So I need to go with 3" inlet/outlets instead of 2.5", correct? So the Flowmaster 943049????

Found one on eBay - $78.00 - free shipping!

Thanks again!
