which will be louder

ok im trying to figure out what exhaust setup will be louder, my current one which is just a turn down in place of the muffler and tailpipe...

or a y-pipe where the turndown is out to 3.5 or 4" tips

and would it even be worth it to take off my 4 stock cats and put in 2 high flows unless i do a full true dual exhaust or would it be worth it to do it with the y-pipe setup too??

any help would be great

on my 98 f150 4.6L i deleted the 2nd set of cats and had a y-pipe installed where the muffler was and had 3.5inch tips. that was a very loud setup, i could be heard a mile away turning a corner. lol.

Run hi-flow cats with true duals dumped with tips on them, it'll really roar.

Hi-flow converters would really help it.

Ofcoarse. All 4 OEM cats are very performance and sound restrictive. Replacing with hi-flow converters which flow 40% better and resonate no sound, damn right its worth it

Cat part #s 94306, 94006, and 94106 will work for your truck. Summit Racing carries the 94306, and the Magnaflow 2.5" dual - 3" outlet Y pipe. Performance Peddler and Performance Curve offer the other cats. Not sure if you would wanna do it yourself because the pre-cats are at an angle, you will need a couple pieces of bent pipe, then you'll need to get the O2s mounted after the cats.

Do the high flow cats have a bung for the o2 sensor? I may end up having these put in with some dynomax bullets

Some do, but they dont funtion properly, the rear O2s need mounted after the hi-flow converters.
