Possible Stainless LT headers:)

Hey guys. We are looking into possibly making stainless LT headers for the F-150. Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys on which would be more popular. We are thinking about making them for the 04-06 F-150 4.6/5.4
They would be 1 3/4" primaries and 3" collectors.
Also if we do make these would there be interest in a matching Y also?

Thanks, Guys

First of all, who are you, what company do you represent?
Second, there is already Stainless LT's out there for the 04-up 150's, but only for the 5.4. The 4.6 has 2v heads and the 5.4 has 3v heads and they have different exhaust port shapes, not to mention the taller deck height of the 5.4 blocks so a one size fits all approach will not work.

If you want to make LT's for these trucks, Try making them for the 4.6 with the 2v heads and keep the size down to 1.5" primary. A set for the new 4.6 w/3v heads for the new 09 guys would be nice also and keep the primary down to 1 5/8 max.

Well this is why I'm here to get educated a little
I've had a few people show intrest in 04-06 F-150 stainless headers.
I looked into some of what's out in the market now but guess I maybe wrong here
Looking at what pacesetter offers they have a set of LT's part number 72C2229 that they say fits 04-06 F-150's with either the 4.6 or 5.4 summit racing site also say they fit both the 4.6 and 5.4 from 04-06.
So from 04-06 I know the 5.4 is has the 3v heads but didn't know the 4.6 is still the 2v heads is this true?

Please do not post the same thread in multiple forums. The other multiple thread has been deleted.

Thanks,

Yeah, the 4.6 has the old 2v heads and the 5.4 has the 3v heads. For the 09 you can get a 4.6 with 3v heads as an option.

If you make any LT's for the 4.6 keep the primaries small, the 4.6 is a short stroke motor (3.55") and these trucks are very heavy (approx 6K lbs) and since torque is what get these tanks moving and the 4.6 doesn't have a lot of it, large primaries will kill what little TQ you have.

x2, same here. 1 5/8" would be better to run for these trucks. Also the sets should also allow for 2.5" collectors since no one is going to run 3" duals, and not everyone wants to run a 3" Y pipe to a single exhaust.

ic how i am viewed a no one! 3" true duals sound cool but if pacesetters collector was 2 1/2" i woulda done 2 1/2" true duals it was just easyer to make ever thing 3" and the TQ i lost from runnin 3" i didnt notice bc of the TQ i gained from longtubes over shorty's

Well right now we can't jump into both the 4.6L and 5.4L Long tube market.
Just have to many other things going on.
So I guess I'm looking to see which one would be more popular the 4.6 or the 5.4

I think the 4.6 would be a better choice due to the fact there are already header companies with 5.4L applications.
