hmm.. so what are our alternatives in buying replacement filters when that time comes down the road? How long does the reusable filter last anyways?

Does the size of the conical filter really matter? Just so long as it's fairly similar, shouldn't it work just as well?

Afe or Aem will have a size to bolt on, there are many different brands but tube diameter should be pretty standard.

Sad to hear...it's always tough to hear stuff like this. I've been extremely happy with my 3" and have had no problems, but I wouldn't have even heard about them had I not found this site first.

Get your old filter off and take some mesurments and put them in the filter builder and it will give u the part # I know the part # for 97-03 is R1177

But dont know the # for 04+ ...you could call S&B and ask them Agian they did supply AF1 with filters

Is that part # the same for the 4.2s as well as the v8s?

Do these are intakes really help that much? I have been doing searches, but there does not seem be a consensus. Most of the threads turn into a pissing match

ya they do. and AF1 just happened to be one of the best ones in my opinion. ive had mine for 2 years and i love it

Ya thats too bad.....I bought mine back in 04 when I first got my truck...i looked everywhere and they were one of the first people to make a CAI for the 4.6 that year......had it on for almost 5 years now and love it....
