Thumbs up What kind of mufflers???

Ok guys here's the situation! lol

I have a 99 f150 with the 5.4L v8 and I would like to install some good sounding mufflers or some with good sound and performance also...

I dont know which way to go...

The setup I have now is a 5.4L obviously and long tube headers and a set of high flow cats... the pipe is 2.25... it is true dual all the way back and exits on 45's out the back with a 16" x4" stainless tips on both sides...
What happened is i got pulled over 5 times and got loud exhaust warnings finally they gave me a ticket and made me park the truck so i had to go buy a cheap set of mufflers which are the 25 dollar specials at NAPA... They dont sound that bad i guess but i want a real deep sound but yet rap and throaty... I really dont know what kind to get there are so many out there i would like to see what u have in mind...

Thanks guys

dave

Damn I bet that is loud!

Magnaflow 14" body mufflers would be a good choice, will sound real deep and loud. If you want more rasp like straights then 11" bodies.

my 11" bodies were $67.50 each, the 14s are around the same or $72.

Since this is the OEM forum. I am going to say a nice stock replacement will sound great. Heck, I'll even sell you my OEM muffler.

Now that I got that out of the way. I would say you should run just the headers for a little bit, then once you get pulled over, throw the pipes back on. So when he sees you again, he will think you did a lot to fix it.

That will still get him pulled over though.... those aren't quiet mufflers, especially with LTs and hi-flow converters.

Super 44s with stock cats and manifolds wont be bad. Theres a black 4.6L on Youtube with them on an '04.

Sounds like a plan, if you go through with that make sure you get a video! That will be a first and will sound great.
