Magnaflow or flowmaster???
Magnaflow or flowmaster???
I need some input guys! Like horsepower gain if any. And over all sound in and out side. I live in florida which requires us by law to have cats. So thanks in advanced for n e input or suggestions!!
When shopping for exhaust you'll more than likely be buying a "cat-back" which means you or the shop chops off everything after the cats. I know alot of guys here will come in and tell you to get a custom one made up and use an "x" pipe. Or shop around on Ebay and find an OBX kit - Long tube headers and catted "Y" pipe.
Me personally I will say Flowmaster. I had an ORIGINAL 40 series on my V6 'Stang. And both my F-150's - a '97 4.6L and an '03 5.4L - have dual out Flowmaster mufflers and they are just great. They have a nice crackle when they settle down after you rev it out. Interior noise isn't too bad. Alot of people complain about the "drone" of Flowmaster kits. I don't know what they're complaining about as I've never heard this "drone".
Exterior is good for just cruising around, and when you get on it - race, passing, show-off, etc. it's nice and loud.

I've never been a big fan of magnaflow mufflers because I like it really loud.I think you would be happy with the flowmaster 44. Your not going to be able to tell horsepower gain or loss with any muffler to be honest cause its so little.. Most mufflers are more for sound
Magnaflow if you want a real deep note thats respectful and healthy for performance.
Flowmaster if you wanna disturb the peace some.
Hi-Flow cats if you ever get bored of your sound and want much more volume.

I have to agree with the Flowmaster's I have the Original 40 on my 08 4.6 as well SI/DO and love it, and there is not much more interior sound then stock IMO and I really never hear any drone.
