Troyer also claims 25 rwhp on a 3V 5.4 at 3000 rpms from the AF1. I know Troyer and his staff know their stuff, but I seriously doubt that you would get that much from just that intake with a tune?

That sounds very high to me.And php is saying stock box flows enough with the snorkle removed?Does troyer sell the af1 that may make the number higher or this number is with many of his other over priced mods?Does troyer even have a in house dyno?I dont think he does thats why it takes 12 weeks to get his tunes,he has to buy dyno time at someone elses shop.

Troyer does have a in house dyno, I believe! And the moral of the story though is that you will never see the numbers that these manufacturers claim.

I love them this is not the same truck i bought 8 months ago the way the trany shifts and the power comes on hard but is very very smooth which is something i didnt expect. The custumer service cant be beat. And yes Mike at 5 Star has his own dyno in house and owns and drives a 05 150 5.4 2wd every day it has 90,000 miles on it probably 2000 dyno miles.

K&N isnt going to care either way. you dont have the money or time to fight them about their claims. ohh and BTW dont go around saying things like this

"Then again some people may take offense and want to believe their stickers make hp."

when you call nitrous

"...or some blown engine with 10000 shot of NOS?"

i feel like im in fast and the furious when i hear people say that.
There's not much research to do on intakes. You can search all the forums, go to all the sites and the only research I can get is the one provided by manufacturers. Cause Problems? Pretty sure my initial post was looking for some added info which is what I got and I have more stuff to do than offend people on forums while in Afghanistan, lol. Sounds like you don't like K&N and even more so it seems that you were offended about my post. Either way I got some more answers and ultimately let the wife choose. S&B seems the way we are going along with SCT 3 Custome tune from VMP and a roush exhaust then a complete audio re-haul. BTW this will be a completely different configuration than my other 3 F150's I have had so I'm not when it comes to these things. Guess this is what I get for asking about info on 2 companies I've never used. Sad really and I would have never thought and argument would have started about something so simple as intakes.

That sounds like a good combo to me enjoy. I love the sound of the roush exhaust also one of the best sounding pipes out there.

Yeah I've dealt with Justin for yrs now over at the V6F150 site and this is my 3rd programmer. Most of you guys have the V8, which I have one now, but my other current truck and the yrs past it's been the 4.2l. Talk about spending your money wisely, until you've had the V6 you haven't experienced heartache, lol. Thanks for all the info everyone and hopefully the S&B looks as good as it does in the photos.
