New exhaust choices

Hey guys I have an '01 F-150 supercrew 4.6L and i'm wanting a new exhaust. I have gone to my two local shops and one has quoted me 350 install on a Magnaflow exhaust. The other has quoted me 350 as well with switching to a 3" pipe where it goes to a single pipe with a Magnaflow as well. I'm thinking the second quote is better than the first. I'm looking for a deep throaty sound. Will the Magnaflow deliver? thanks for your help.

so he's charging $300 for a SI/SO exhuast? thats expensive!

i got true duals with 2.5 piping all the way back to 4X18 SS tips for 360!

the 3" pipe before the muffler really isnt going to help. it is the stock Y-pipe that is so restrictive.

Hes smoking something funky or you got mis-lead/mistaken information. The chambered mufflers Magnaflow offers are 3 chambers, not two, and please dont go with the chambered muffler. The basic straight through 14" SI/DO would be your best choice. If I were you I would buy my muffler and tips, and take it all to a shop to have it installed.

I've heard the Dynomax Bullet on some trucks but it seemed like that exhaust is only on duals. Would that be a choice to look at? I really liked the sound. I'm mainly looking for a deep sound, kind of a mean sound ya know?

for deep and mean i would not go with magnaflow. the dynomax and flowmaster 10 series/cherrybomb extreme may be what you're looking for if you want it louder

What would be my dimensions for my piping, Isn't it just a 2.5" pipe?

http://summitracing.com, http://performancepeddler.com, http://performance-curve.com, http://jegs.com, http://www.hottexhaust.com/. Mostly all of the ebay items are listings by these sellers.

They're decent, SI/SO configuration only bthough, thats why they are true dualed mostly.

..........? A chambered muffler is not as deep toned as a straight through is. They are nosier, and hollow sounding. Not as clear and toned as straight through designs.
