Curious?

I have a 05 f150, 5.4 I have true duals 2.5" with no mufflers. I am thinking I need a X or H pipe, but the exhaust place I go to, said that it wouldn't be worth it, because the pipes were too close. I think it's A. The truth B. Not enough money in it for them or C. Too difficult. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Anything can be done, the question is are they too lazy to do it.

It'd help a lot to balance the exhaust out and scavenge, will also quiet it down a bit too. It's certainly bull**** that it's not worth it because the pipes are so close together because your exhaust coming from the driver's side manifold is certainly traveling further than the passenger side. (Unless they're somehow running everything down the center of your chasis instead of down the passenger side.)

all they need to do is cut a hole in the pipes and run a piece of pipe to connect them and there is your H pipe.

an H-pipe would help deepen up your exhaust note and take away the rasp/cackle

True dual cross overs are very well worth it, the X pipe in particular, does the best job at leveling scavenging, and elliminates most of the rasp and crackle. Have a listen to my truck and you will see.

But I am willing to bet that at least 90% of the people on this forum have installed them wrong.

Yeah true. Either they are DI/DO crossflow mufflers, or mounted too far down, or very custom fabricated like mine, mine is both pipes just with cut sides, then welded together, but hey it works and it was free so i'm happy, until the welds break and it leaks
