rear cat delete with straight pipe?

OK just trying to decide on an exhaust set up, I was lookin close at MBRP, Right now I have all 4 cats with the stock exhaust straight piped, would a straight pipe with rear cat delete sound good you think?

I think it would sound better, but I would just gut them out as the fines are huge for removing the cats. Farmboybrent

It would be loud. You wont have a CEL and it'll just take a couple hours and good sawzall blades to do the job.

Thats cool, but no emissions doesn't necessarily mean its not illegal to remove/alter factory converters or swap out to hi-flows unless your inspection laws comply. I have no emissions but my inspection requires i have all 4 cats, though thats not an issue because I get slip sticker inspections, and my truck doesn't roar down the road at low rpm.

I cut both out of my 96 and it passed inspection here....but i would keep the cats around for sure

i got that done on my truck by me and my buddy straight with rear cats hollowed out just pull the y pipe and trans cross member and a plasma cutter a mig and i used an air chisel cuz i was in a rush but it sounds good

i did that on my 98 f150 4.6L. sounded geat! espicialy when i would pass a chevy on the interstate! LOL

i have a 2003 f150 true duel straights 5 inch tips i punched out the second cats then put the o2 sensors back in them after 25000 miles still no engine light leave the cats for show but just punch them out and leave the first ones alone check out my vids one without 5 inch tips pulling a friend out funny vid http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=30575115 just a couple revs http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=49965640
