Here's the deal

Okay guys so i got my super 40 SI/DO muffler, tailpipes and tips. About a week ago I cut my old muffler and everything off and just clamped the new muffler on. Didnt put the tailpipes or anything on cause they were to much of a pain in the ***. I really liked the way it sounded but the interior drone was way louder than what i wanted. So today i finally got around to getting those tailpipes clamped on and now its to quiet. The pipes are only 2.25", would 2.50" make any difference in sound? Or should I just swap the muffler out with a Super 44?

are the tips on it? if not then get them on first and then see how it goes. and a muffler still has a break in period.

It will still be loud outside. Have a friend take it down the road for you to hear. If your still unhappy then if you find it affordable to get 2.5" tailpipes then you will get only a minor increase with them.

A chambered muffler does not break in. There is no sound wool inside, or any oils inside that wear out by heat. Its all steel.

im pretty sure if you wanted to switch, the super44 will be louder. the original 40 is louder than the super40 (yours) i could be wrong though

The Super 44 is a little louder, but they both will sound very identical, the Super 44 is more open flowing, less restricting baffle design. Original is louder than all imo though I agree with you on that.
