Raspy Mustang Sound

I want to get that raspy mustang sound that you see on the youtube videos. What parts do they have that create that distinct sound? True duals, long tubes, bassani x-pipe and what muffler?

ehh.. well if its what you want then awesome man. The video of the Lightning with the Borla Stingers... I think it sounds like s**t. Rasps way too much. He probably wasn't running cats though, the Stinger kit sounds incredible on the Mustangs!

I still want it to be a dual split right out the back, and do they make a kit for my year and body style?

I dont believe Borla makes the Stinger cat-back for trucks. Need to grab some mufflers from a cat-back. Ebay auction is a possibility.

NO cats run a magnaflow muffler, hi flow cats run maganpacks. DO NOT use flowmasters w/ a basani X pipe, sounds terrible.
SLP 2's are identical to stingers to.

Man, I bet this is going to cost a hell of a lot of money, but it should give a serious performance boost. I checked a youtube video of a new GT with LT's, an x-pipe and magnapacks, and that's exactly it!

Now I just got to get a job! I priced it out and the actual parts won't be too bad, but the labor is what will kill me. I've still got plenty of time to wait for the Pacesetter LT's to come out of development, so I should be able to scrounge enough cash up by then!

That sure sounds good, especially that mild acceleration! Incredible!

Well I'm going to have to wait til Pacesetter releases their 04-06 long tube headers for the 4.6. But so far the parts list is:
Pacesetter LT headers
Bassani X-pipe
2 Magnapack Mufflers
3.5x18 inch tips
And a damn good exhaust shop do make mandrel bent pipes. No more of that crush bent ****.

I had them on my Mach 1 with an MRT H-pipe. The borla stinger uses the S-Type muffler. Look on the borla website to find them. Very loud muffler at 103db's on a typical mustang. The loudest exhaust would be the SLP Loudmouth 1 at 104db's on a mustang. Every 3db's is equal to double in audible sound.

SLP 2's are identical to stingers to.

SLP 2's are not identical. They use a packing, where Borla S-Type mufflers (Stinger) use a ceramic coating. No packing to burn out. Borla S-Type will be louder than SLP 2's. SLP 1's are louder than Borla S-Type by 1db.

Ok, I did the math and the overall price is going to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, like $1600, labor and parts. Does Magnaflow make a magnapack muffler that is a SIDO configuration?
