What is the deal?
Today I had a muffler installed on my truck with turndowns. I have a 02' f-150 with the 4.6L v8 and its 2wd.. I told the guy i wanted thrush or flowmaster and for some reason he got me flowsound and told me that it was just as good as flowmaster but i beg to differ when i started it up i was very disappointed.. Does it need time to break in the muffler or what? It's a dual inlet dual outlet muffler and its not very deep or loud at all i was very disappointed.. What do i need to do?
I would go back there and have them remove it ASAP. Putting a few thousand miles on it and then finding out it doesnt sound the way you wanted it, just negates the possibility of the shop doing anything for you now that the muffler is old and used. just my opinion though.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do

i paid 70 dollars to have it installed and everything so i mean its not like i was just ripped off... Im just used to having glass packs i guess and i had them removed because my tips became rusted and the hangers kept breaking so i wanted something new and decided on turndowns.. He told me the flowsounds sounded as good as the flowmasters but not from what i can tell...

I ordered a cold air intake should that make it noticeably deeper or not that much of a difference? Also i have been told since i have 4 cats to delete the front ones and leave the rears since the front ones have no o2 sensors...
More air induction will make the exhaust note deeper yes. And deleting the pre-cats could help, but your better off replacing all 4 OEM cats with 2 Magnaflow hi-flow converters for the most legal sound gain without touching headers.
