Intake choices?
Intake choices?
Hey guys,
Need a little help here...
I was thinking of a new Intake system.
I was in between the
Air Raid 400-140-1:
http://www.fordf150.net/reviews/show...php/product/41
Or the K&N FIPK 57-2538
http://www.fordf150.net/reviews/show...oduct/20/cat/2
Thank-you for your help guys. Money is not really an issue, but I'm not a millionaire. lol

I would vote S&B if you would consider it, but the K&N unit is a well known and liked kit, but I wouldn't use their filter, AEM makes a better filtering filter.

Well I've been looking for one on my new 5.4l but none of these companies have proven me anything. My 05 4.2l and 97 4.2l had either a homemade intake or MAC intake but I'm tired of MAC and their bad customer support and I don't want to make another home intake. K&N has the dyno proven charts to backup their claims but their directions are horrible. S&B has awesome directions but where the hell does the air come from? The small fender well opening and headlamp area? If so I don't think it tells you that in the instructions not to mention it's completely sealed off from air everywhere else which tells me its best designed for offroad apps. The AF1 seems it takes a shorter distance to the TB which is better but there's no place to find instructions. Both AF1 and S&B have no dyno charts and don't claim any numbers. You've got to have the numbers in my opinion so K&N seems like the only reliable choice. The AF1, S&B and K&N are all on my list, hell the Volant looks the same as the S&B so put that on there too. I think the K&N is going to win it in the long run solely based on #'s.
