Anyone know what the part number is for a Flow 44 si/so stock replacement. Truck is an 06 STX with 4.6 and stock exhaust. Thanks in advance for the info...

Don't think they make one as a (Stock replacement). You'll probably have to add a piece of pipe. There a lot shorter then the stock one!

You'll need off offset inlet and outlet to best match the line ups of the stock muffler and stock tailpipe. So part #942548

No to steal the thread but an additional quesion(s)......

Would this be the same part number for an 05 with a 4.6?
Will any additional parts or pieces be needed?

Thanks so much

Yes it will fit it. They are universal mufflers so they will definitely fit. If you are wanting to take a try at installing it yourself, you will need 3 2.5" clamps, and about 20"s of extra 2.5" pipe since the stock 32" muffler is being replaced with a 13" one.

If your shop carries the correct model it might be cheaper there. Remember these mufflers are about $10 or so bucks shipped, so technically your buying the muffler for $89. If your shops have then for $83 or so like most do, it might be cheaper.

Thumbs down

I put flowmasters 44 series on my 98 4.6 and it sounds like I'm driving an old caddy with a hole in the muffler anywhere around 50mph and up. I don't know if its not running right or what! Yes, it's had tune up. Plugs and wires. Besides that it's quiet at idle or driving around town. I'd almost rather run it with no muffler at all. Except loosing all power isn't worth it.

I ordered a super 44 yesterday with some extra pipe and some clamps.
I am sure I will have questions when I do the DIY.
One I have right away is on what side of the new muffler should I place the piece of pipe needed to make up the length from the stock muffler?
Should it in go front of the muffler or between the muffler and tailpipe?

Thanks again

How many miles are on your truck and does your truck idle for long periods of time? You may have burnt up ct converters and it may be time for new ones.

Mount the pipe onto the existing intermediate pipe, then install the muffler and the tailpipe into the muffler outlet. More secure set up, should not need a hanger for the muffler.

Hi Darren, I got eh roughly 141,000 miles on her. And it does idle for a while at times. I've been thinking about putting some high flow maggie converters on. I have another post out there on that. Somebody said to stay away from them though. Saying that they aren't good quality. I've never heard that before though. Usually everyone praises them.
