Cats Out???

I have a flowmaster Super 44, single in / dual out with 5''x18'' in tips!
I'm thinking about taking out the cats??? Good idea???
I have heard TONS of different advice from friends; most of which have NO CLUE what they are talkin about......
What are ALL of the effects??? (Good and Bad!)
Thanks guys,
Clint

if you cut out the cats you'll get a cel and fuel mileage will drop. you can get a tuner to turn out the cel. you'll lose bottom end torque. i'd at least put in 2 high flows. and sell your old cats to a scrap yard for some money.

Yea your best option would probably be to scrap the old cats and replace them with hi flows. You can get the 9" Maggie flows for 50 bucks on performance peddler, and you should make some money selling the old ones.

Sounds Badd-***!
What did it do to your Gas Mileage, Low-end torque, and overall power?

Friend did it right as i got it so not really sure but low end torque and power was all taking care of by a superchip programmer and a cold air intake. With my bigger tires, exhaust, superchip, and cold air intake im avg about 13.5 mpg
