Mustang sound!?!?

Has anyone heard a F150 sound like a mustang? I absolutely love that sound. Does anyone know how the exhaust runs? CATs and Mufflers? I do have the 5.4 but with the same firing sequence things should be able to sound similar i would think.

Im thinking about taking the tips out infront of the rear wheels to to shorten up the exhaust.

Any ideas would be great.. Thanks

That sound can be achieved by going w/the Magnaflo. That was the sound I was looking for too. You'll want to get a CAI too. That adds to the stang tone you'll want. Other members will chime in that have some sound clips and what not.

Cut the rear cats or all cats with true dual Borlas, or Magnaflow mufflers and it will have more of that Mustang like rumble.

I got the MAC cat back system. it makes it sound like that mustang that sounds nastier than all of the other stock ones. my friend has them on his 87 lx and they are amazing. i highly recommend picking one up.

I got my exhaust before the cai. It sounded great. It sounded even better once I installed the intake. I was going to go with some Magnaflo high flow cats but just haven't got around to it. In fact I probably wont due to the way it sounds now. Very low subtle sounding at idle or low acceleration and tasteful rumbling at harder accelerations. WOT? Look out! That's when you really hear it.

I went with the Air Force 1 intake. I made my decision based on information I found here. It is one of the more expensive ones out there but I'm pleased with it, no regrets.

try this for sound, it's the borla stinger mufflers and an X-pipe

I love the sound but would prefer an H-pipe with the same mufflers

I was going to say go with the Roush off road exhaust. I have it and it is awesome, but it's rear exit. Borla makes the exhaust, so getting one of their mufflers and having a shop do the piping how you like will give you the sound you want.

I think im going to have a friend of mine run the piping, he builds drag cars and exhaust but im trying to figure out what mufflers to use, we were talking about running 3.5-4 inch pipes and i think it would look sick to bring 2 out on each side, but atleast out the passenger side.

Sounds really good but too loud for a daily driver IMO
