Question Need experienced advice...

OK so i have a 97 f150 reg flareside 4x4 with a 4.6. and a few mods. I am ordering longtube headers for it this week since my exhaust manifolds are now leaking. THis is the plan for my exhaust......Longtube headers to electric exhaust cut-outs to a dual-in, dual-out muffler, to sidepipes like i currently have(looks like a lightning). NO resonators or cats. the question is what is everything i will need to make this work without throwin a check engine light every 2 seconds?

I am thinking ill need a new egr tube and O2 simulators. what else?

thanks for any help

I would try the longtube headers with a single chamber flowmaster and see how that sounds before you lose the cats. I had this exact set up on my 97, dumped out the side with a 4.6 liter with P.I. heads on it and a diablo tuner, it was LOUD. I ended up dyno-matting the entire floor and rear cab of the truck and it was still pretty obnoxious. Fun for riding up beside cars with their windows down and punching it though. You might want to check out the mustang forums for an answer to this as I am sure alot of them are running without their cats, that is about the only real advice I can give you for what you really are wanting to do though. Good luck with your search
