Filter replacement

Alright the time has come that I should buy a new intake filter for my stock 5.4 intake. Over summer, I looked at the S&B considering it, since I will get an S&B intake in the long run. What filters does everyone prefer around here? I was looking at the True Flow filter, back when I had the Silverado the GM guys loved the True Flow filters. Any good for F150s?

if you are just getting a new filter for the stock intake just get a motorcraft paper filter.

Ok, so its best to just stick with all Motorcraft if its all stock. Sounds good. Any idea where I could buy one online?

I considered the K&N filter on a few previous vehicles, but I have heard alot of negatives on the cleaning and oiling of the filters. However I would still consider S&B which requires the same thing I would like to have a dry flow filter but oiled filters work a little better correct?

Mine works great. Have had it over 3 years and 77,000 miles. I clean it about every 20,000 miles. Never had a problem. You just have to follow their instructions, and oil lightly.

the dry paper type filters actually filter better than the oiled ones. this is what i would reccomend if you want a high flow drop in. http://www.aempower.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ProductID=1346

I think AEM and AFE both make dry filters, but I could be wrong.

Is the OEM filter supposed to be orange? Mine looks like a dry orange filter.

My trucks air filter is white, however our 05 expy has an orange air filter. So I am thinking it is suppose to be orange, at least I am hoping so, because if not its really dirty

Any aftermarket paper filter will work, Fram, Purolator, Wix, etc. They are all good.

No crap Fram products will touch any motor that I ever own. I dont like Fram, cheap, not real trusty imo.
