Have decided on magnaflow and then the ?
1st and for most I like to say this is an awesome forum I have learned allot here thanks
After reading all the threads here I have finally made up my mind to get the the Magnaflow 22" long Muffler only SI/SO since I don't want to much sound and since I tow 7200 lbs trailer and boat I want no drone.
and from what I can gather I shouldn't loose any low end from this.. Now if I got the SI/DO will I loose the low end then? Just because I like the look
Or does it have to be cat back?
I only want a bit of sound when I steep on it and when I start up just not to radical
And of cause the Rouch street legal got me thinking...which one is the loudest and or best.
Ohh one more thing
If I get the 22" muffler do I stick the extension in front of the muffler or behind it since there are 8" difference in length?
I will be getting a Gryphon in the future.
Long one bear with me thanks

The 22" Magnaflow is a damn quiet muffler, so it will be hardly noticeable over stock, but if thats the sound level you want then it will work out fine for your requests.
The Roush legal exhaust is a bit louder than the Magnaflow exhaust, especially the 22" Magnaflow muffler.
SI/DO wont cut your scavenging up making a low end loss, as long as there is a single intermediate pipe.

I just went through this same Q/A thing a few days ago in a thread here. After reading the posts and hearing from the guys here that know exhausts, I ordered up the 18" Mag SI/DO to replace my current Flowmaster 40 SI/DO that I had installed in May due to the interior drone becoming annoying to me. Don't get me wrong, the FM sounds great on the truck, just a bit too much for me at this stage of the game. Most if not all of the Mag cat back systems offered come with the 18". I was leaning towards the 22" like you, but I do want a little better sound than the stock exhaust which I was advised the 22" would be equal to or only barely louder/better than stock. From what I have read on here, the best setup powerwise on a dyno for a mostly stock truck is a SI/SO, but I have also read on here that an SI/DO will not produce any noticeable gain/loss, the DO is mostly for the look and sound. I will post back after I receive the 18" and have it installed which should be in a couple weeks.

Yeah Ive never done a 0-60 time with mine. I traded an 05 GTO in for it, so if it couldnt keep up with that thing it didnt matter!

I hear ya. I had a '02 Trans Am WS6 when I graduated high school, after that I started getting into trucks since I needed one for my life style and work, bought a Silverado 2500HD, didn't like it that much or its gas mileage ( 6.0L LQ4 ) Now I got the F150, love it alot, great economy and tough. I still miss my performance days, which is why I wish my F150 had more pep to it, and to shut the Chevy and Dodge guys up

Probably another 100 horses to the wheels, so your probably talking, Supercharger, Longtrube Headers, hi-flow cats, true duals X piped, straight through mufflers, CAI, custom tune, synthetic oil, MSD ignition, stronger spark plugs, and maybe nos.
Well, I changed my mind! I am not really liking the loud factor of my current FM 40 SI/DO so I ordered up the Mag 18" SI/DO after many hours of reading threads on here. Well, one of my work vehicles is a 2008 F-150, all stock, and I guess I am getting old, cause I drove it all over town today and I REALLY liked the quiet factor! So, with my 18" Mag on the way still, I ordered up the 22" Mag 3"SI/2.5"DO, also from Perfomance Peddler. I'll just have to eat the 30% re-stocking fee (which includes shipping and handling) it's gonna cost to send the 18" back to them un-opened. Or, if I won't lose any more, I'll sell it to someone here. So it was $96 new, 30% of which is $28.80, so I'd net $67.20. If someone wants to give me $67.20 plus shipping or come pick it up in Lake George, NY, it's yours for $67.20.
