That would be a 1978 Dodge Little Red Express. That was kind of a neat truck.

OP, if you do it make sure you post some pics. I'm pretty sure you would get a few comments.

The red express, Sweet. Your truck with stacks? Retarded. Sorry, everyone is being really gentle with you and everyone knows it's stupid on a gas truck. Yup, your truck, your money. You also have to be seen in it, though.

well, i guess thanks for the input... unfortunatly im stuck between getting the Roush side exit exhaust (571$) or the stack exhaust.. most of the kits i find are about the same price.
I just thought it would look pretty neat on a FX4. im sorry all of you think it would be a moot point on a gas powered truck. i was hoping to find at least on person who agreed that they would look good on a newer F150.

although i gotta say it, I've seen a few of those lil red express trucks around. thats where i got the idea, and they're pretty sweet.

of course those stacks were installed from the factory, and i do think they were/are cool.
many many things that were cool in the 70's were fascinating to me. im only 21 and i own a 2, yes 2, 1964 Ford Falcon Vans. One of which is a parts car and the other is in production of being a part of another hobby of mine, a sweet Vannin machine. it has a 383 with a 3-on-the-tree shifter.
i guess i just dont understand why im the only one who thinks they could look sweet on an newer f150.
although... the whole Diesel thing is a problem.

submitted for your approval (cheap paint mock-ups)

i say do it im tired of guys getting flamed for wanting to put stacks on gas trucks. the only thing is your gonna have to have smaller stacks. if you put 5" dual stacks your truck will have no bottom end power at all Diesels can push 5" pipe your gas engine can barley push 3" if that. Also if you do get stacks get a smoke kit or flame kit ive always wanted sidepipes like on vette's on my 77 but couldnt do it.

be differnt from everyone else. they all have dual stright out the back. 45ed behide the rear tires or lightning exhuast style or like mine just dumped under the truck. Not to many trucks Even diesels dont have stacks i say give it a shot. Good luck bud

well im glad to see a few people are on my side of this.
i understand how 5" or even 4" would look kinda out of place on a gas powered ford. But someday in the future, after i find around 500$ to take it to an exhaust shop and see what can be done.
Also if you do get stacks get a smoke kit or flame kit
anyone have any good ideas or companies in mind for these kits?

ive seen them both on summit thats what i posted. yes i understand stacks are for diesels but who cares lets see some on a gas truck or 2. get a smoke kit someone who doesnt know about cars and trucks will think you have a diesel from all the smoke your pouring lol. and flame throwers are just fun...kinda pointless but fun! i think flamethrowing stacks would be sweeet.

Also ive seen smoke and flame kits on jegs as well. Good luck bud

As dumb as I think it would look... You'll want a universal stack kit made for a diesel. The smallest pipe you'll be able to find will be 4", so you'll have to find the appropriate reducers. Now, keep in mind that stacks are VERY expensive. Figure on spending no less than $500-600 on the stack kit alone, plus install and the reducer and the rest of the exhaust work. For whoever said something about cab heat, c'mon man. Diesels run much hotter than gassers and don't have a problem with melting the paint.

stack kits including the stacks/tips themselves only cost around 500-600$. and thats the whole kit. i mean, i am looking to spend almost 500$ as it is on the Roush Exhaust but if i can find stacks, that would be better in my opinion.
