F150 Stack Exhaust?

yes, Stack Exhaust. Dual stacks preferably.
I've seen many other trucks with this type of exhaust and I've looked online for such kits but I'm concerned that these kits and all stack exhaust in general only fit Diesel models...
anyone ever try to throw these kits on their trucks?

there is a reason they only fit diesels

Amen those on a half ton is just obnoxious, but on the other hand its your money and I say do whatever you want, and I have not put one on mytruck but I have seen a few on gas engines. Anything is possible for the right amount of $$.

unless you got lots of black smoke comming out of them its just not cool.....

Flames would be sweet too :rocker:

It's going to have to be custom made. I'm pretty sure there aren't too many companies out there making a dual stack exhaust kit for gassers...

By the stacks you want to run and take them to a custom exhaust shop, I guess...

There is a guy in the neighbor hood that has them.. they are on an old dodge power wagon truck.. They are loud as he$$ .. I mean like a 70's model truck.. it is definitly not a diesel ... I will ride down the road and get picture of it today when I am testing out my subwoofer that should be installed today.. Well anyway back to the pipes, i would think it will create lots of heat behind the cab, and depending on the muffler may sound like crap.. Plus what a pain to polish those once a week..

Heck i passed a 76 model chevy the other day that had side pipes .. Sort of like those on the old 50's model vette's... Must of been straight thru exhaust on a 350v8... My teeth ratled when I passed this guy.. The one thing I did notice is one side was blowing white smoke... Gotta love it... and Lets not forget the Mexican down my street with the Volvo and one 3 inch pipe sticking out the bottom center of the rear bumper with the turbo sounding tail piece.. Man I have got some clowns in my neighborhood ... I guess i will be know as the old guy that listens to that loud booming music... LOL

stacks are for diesels.

DeathMetalTruck 11-08-2008 03:38 PM

Yeah it could be done. You probably will have a hard time trying to find the right kind of kit for a gas truck, because most of them are gonna be for diesels and the piping is going to be way too big for you to use. If I were you and were going to seriously do it I would bring it to a good exhaust shop and start by building a true dual exhaust with an X Pipe and probably 2.5 piping. Have them run the piping up through the bed (obviously they will half to cut a hole in your bed) and they will probably use some flex-pipe under the truck where it needs to start turning up. As far as the actually Stacks (Tips) go, you could buy those online, just look around. I wouldn't go any bigger than 5" on a 150 otherwise it's probably gonna look kind of stupid.

Goodluck!

Um, in my opinion only certain stacks look good on certain trucks. For example, one of the kids i work with has two flapped stacks painted black, like off a tractor, on his cummins, that looks cool.

Stacks on a gasser, however look stupid. But, you know what its your truck, so if you like it feel free to spend your money, I didn't think his truck would look good either, so what do i know.
