Burning Smell ?? Any ideas ?

I installed my Magnaflow dual exit system on my truck but never drove it as my other lease was not over yet. I brought the truck from my cottage where I had it in the garage home last week in the pouring rain about a 45 min drive and all seemed fine.

Today I drove it for a bit and hard I guess meaning I installed my tuner also and did have a heavy foot. Every time I get out of the truck I smell like a burning smell like rubber or plastic. I am worried I maybe installed the system wrong and it is heating something although I cant see how.

I checked and the only place the pipes come close to anything is the spare. At rest I have about a finger space between the two after driving I looked and the pipe was just about resting on the spare as the hooks move in that rubber hanger thing, but no burn marks on the tire rubber and no black rubber on the pipe. I looked at everything else and cant see anything wrong. I just want to make sure I dont do any damage to anything.

The truck only has 300K on it could it just be the new exhaust and the other components on the truck like brakes and roters burning in ? It was strong enough when I pulled in the garage a friend said hey what is that burning smell.

The burning smell is the oil left over they use to make the mandrel bends in the tubing. It will smell like that for a few days. It burn off and all will be good It is normal epsecially during break in time.

Ok let me make it clearer then I guess, there are 187 miles on the truck NOT 187,000, when I said 300K that was 300 Kilometers not 300,000

So to reassure you as to what everone else is stating that is the mandrel grease burning off the pipe. Should go away in 500 miles or so. Thank You for purchasing Magnaflow we appreciate it
