x pipe?

x pipe?

i have a 98 f150 3 door with the 4.6L and i was wondering how do i go about getting a x pipe for my truck. and whats the price range for getting one and having it installed. i know i need true duals and all any info will be help full thanks.

i just called my local muffler shop and they told me there wasnt enough room for a x pipe?? but they said they could do true duals. why is this?

If they've got room to run two pipes side by side, then there's room for an x-pipe too.

They're too lazy to do the welding? Beats me....time to check another exhaust shop.
There are plenty of the 97-03 trucks here that are running x-piped duals and I don't remember anyone hearing that they couldn't fit the x-pipe in their system.

awesome i guess i will be finding a differnt muffler shop. is there a differnce in x pipes or they all the same? and what mufflers do you recomend? i have a single flow master now. i want the real good mustang sound if i can get it

im working out of town and i didnt drive my f150 so i was wondering if anyone had a pic of what the factory exhuast looks like under the 97-03 F150 with the 4.6L thanks

Also, just like in Patman's pic. You want the x-pipe as close the exhaust manifolds as possible.

yeah it looks like there is plenty of room to put about 3 x pipes ha ha but yeah they must be stupid i guess i will look for another shop and see what they say. thanks for all the input.
