OBX header questions

From what i see and hear, the OBX LT headers with y pipe, does not come with cats, only resonators, will that not make a check enging light come?

Do you need a special tune to run any long tune headers?

Do you need to buy some extension wiring for the oxtgen sensors to reach?

You might not get the CEL right away, but it will come on eventually. A tune is recommended to get the most out of the LT's and it will also help offset some of the low-end torque loss.

I had to get extenders, for my front o2's but the back ones were fine. You should replace the resonators with High-Flow Cats for best results. I am happy with my set up, and you can still get any stock compatible cat-back to bolt up.

See this is where my frustation sets in , I would have to do so many things to get long tubes right, worry about check engine lights, find a shop that would be willing to do the work so on and so on

Seems getting shorties is just a better option. Cheaper to buy , easire to have installed, no check engine lights.

But on here over and over, people say no shorties, there has to be some performance benefits of shorties, of course not like LT, but some performce, quicker throttle? better sound?

ebay has mil eliminators (probably for mustangs) that should be placed in the rear o2 sensors, that aughta keep you from getting the red flag.

If you don't want to run cats then yes get the eliminators. You will need extensions for the fronts, if your good with a solder gun, people on here have soldered their own extensions. For the rears you could also try Gotts non-fouler mod, seems to have been working well for him.

You will see a improvement with LT's, but I highly doubt you will notice anything with shorty's.

I would, unless you plan on tuning for just resonators and you don't have to pass emissions testing in your state.

I dont have emissions where I live, so I think just the two rear cats will be fine.

If you remove all four of your cats and and purchase to High-flows, you can take you OEM cats to the scrap yard and will probably get more for them then what you'd pay for the High-flows.
