Which Exhaust system to get
I do not know to much about exhaust system but I am looking to upgrade over my stock exhaust system. Alright here is what I am looking for, I want a system that is dual exhaust and will increase fuel economy, power, and sound a little better than stock.
I am really not sure what type of system I would need or what some of the diffferences are. Should I just consider a cat back system? Should I consider a single in dual out? Should I consider a true dual exhaust.
I also need to know If making this mod would affect my warranty. I have heard that Ford can void your warranty for mods like dual exhausts.

SI/DO's are similar to SI/SO's. The DO's will give you the cool factor, and maybe a bit louder than the SO's but both will be better than a stock system anyway. Catback's usually don't affect anything now a days since it's after the cat so I wouldn't worry about warranty's. My vote is the Super 44, I put one on a week ago and I love it. I picked up a few MPG's and the sound is un-beatable.

Click the link in my sig to check my exhaust setup out. It's a true dual magnaflow setup with magnaflow hi-flow cats, an xpipe, and 14" maggie mufflers. It sounds nasty in person, and isn't too obnoxious at idle.
For your performance, unless you have some bigger performance modifications, I would not go with true duals unless you dont mind a little less low end torque.
Magnaflow is what you want, the 14" body in particular.

Warranty concerns when using a MagnaFlow Exhaust System should not be an issue with the Magnuson Moss Act behind you. Per the SEMA website, “the law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying warranty. However, the law’s protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such part actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty.”
Actual text of pertinent Magnuson Moss Act paragraph:
“No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided with out any charge under terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name…(15 USC 2302 (C))”
True dual is counter productive to performance, why does everyone keep insisting this guy go true dual? Only in higher horsepower/larger cubic inch scenarios is true dual necessary. For looks, sound, and performance a catback system with mandrel bent 2.5-3" stainless is optimum for this guy's application and needs.
^^ I agree. My friend who is a tuner has tuned a few of these trucks. Only one had true duals and the others with just CB's. All had similar mods and the one with the true duals came up short on the HP/TQ curve compared to the others.
Well thaks for all of the information everyone. I have heard a few maganaflow system online and I think they sound good. Tomorrow I am going to stop into a local parts store where I get a good discount and see what maganaflow system they have available.
Another question I have is how long should it take a muffler shop to install the system. I do not want to get screwed by being charge to much time for this job. Just to give everyone so more information on what truck. It is an 06 crew cab with a 5.4. I am thinking it should only take an hour or two for a shop to install it.
I will be sure to post a video or audio clip when I get it installed.
