So I was qouted 300 dollars for installation of longtubes on my truck, (2002 5.4). Now I have two questions, is this a good price? and which longtubes are the best? Thanks alot.

The fact that you found a place that would install them is incredible. Lucky. Sounds decent. You and a couple friends and a 24 pack could do it cheaper though. Dynatech is the best.

install is something of a PITA, so yeah, that's a decent price. HOWEVER, you will need further exhaust work upon LT installation, and that may cost you ~$200. the cats have to be moved back to compensate for the extra length of the headers, and o2 sensors have to be rebunged. you'll need o2 extension wires as well, or you'll have to extend the lines yourself, manually. i think you can do it yourself, cut off your exhaust, and drive to the muffler man open headers, and have him fix your exhaust.

do a thread search for threads by user txoutlaw. he did a write-up on dynatech header install on an L, but mostly everything will still apply to a N/A 5.4.

Yea. They will fit.

Dynomax LTs can be had cheaper, OBX cheaper than that. Pace Setters the cheapest.

I bought OBX for around $450, quality was excellent. Installation was a breeze, both slid right in place. Only thing that really slowed it down was installing stage 8 locking bolts, takes a while to get them in but not that bad. I replaced the OBX resonators with Maggie bullet cats and used a 'Y' to connect to my 3" single exhaust. I have around $850 into it altogether and picked up around 25/40 at the wheels.

Try this on for fun..... A few days after install I had a bad exhaust leak on the driver's side and assumed the gasket was leaking since I re-used the stock gaskets. I figured I'd make sure all the bolts were tight so after getting all the clips off and about the time I finished torquing the last one I glanced up to see the egr nut sitting there loose.... I had threaded it on by hand but forgotten to go back and tighten it, and took all the clips off on that side for nothing.....

To make it even better one of the clips sprung off into suspension/frame neverneverland and couldn't be found so I'm running without one on that side...

Oh that never happens

Couldn't find mine for awhile after doing something else, smart. I ran with both sides off until it rained.
