Depending on your local law dudes, if you are missing 2 of the 4 cats, they have the right to cite your vehicle as a gross polutor, and impound the truck. With out a court hearing they can even automatically have the truck scrapped (yes junked) and you get stuck with the tow/impound/destruction fees. Most law and air quality enforcment personnel have a manual that even shows them pictures of what the correect engines should be in eac vehicle (even the ricers).

Good Luck.

that's why I'm glad I don't live in California anymore. The emissions requirements (and many more vehicle laws) are SO strict, I would get pulled over all the time in my rice truck when I was younger...tinted windows, truck too low, stereo too loud...CHP loved me

edited to stay on topic:

I'm stuck between removing rear cats, or just adding 2 high-flows. I might do the rears just like Darren did. sounds pretty sweet.

California sucks no doubt. I'll never live there.

Well if you do not have emissions, and you have a steady inspector ( or no inspection ) then you should be good with deleting your rear cats. Otherwise the best route would be to get hi-flow cats.

and on the some of the older vehicles, the standard cats have platinum in them, so you can take them to a scrap yard and get big $$$, enough to pay for the new hi-flows. the 97-03 150's can possibly throw a code even if you remove just the rear cats because it goes o2 sensor, front cat, rear cat, then another o2 sensor. on one like darren's, it goes o2, cat, o2, cat. so on his, it wont notice that there isnt a rear cat any more. if you do throw a code, you can get eliminators, or you might can try this:

gotts o2 mod with pics

hope that helps.

Thats what I planned if it was to ever throw a code, but i'm 90% positive it will never throw a code, but there is a possibility. never know.
