Expedition Exhaust - Maggie or Bassani

I have a 2000 Expedition and it needs an exhaust - badly.

I'm sitting here debating between the Magnaflow and the Bassani cat-backs.

But you can get a muffler and get pipes bent up cheaper!

Yeah, I could get pipes bent up cheaply. However, I don't think anybody locally has a mandrel pipe bender. Plus, I'm not too worried about the cost - afterall, it is MY money and MY truck.

I've read lots about how the Magnaflow sounds nice (it does). I'm just worried about the fitment (it's made too short) and I'm almost certain it'll be too quiet without getting a smaller Maggie or getting high flow cats. It is stainless though.

I really haven't heard much about the Bassani on an Expedition. I've heard clips from a Lightning and I like the tone. I know it'll be louder and I can get it cheaper, but it's aluminized steel (not good up Nort' ya hey!). I was actually thinking of painting it. I don't know how the fitment is with it, which kinda worries me a little. Anybody care to share their experience with the Bassani catback?

Magnaflow. 14" or 18" muffler will do the job. You can do a muffler swap and pop a tip on the OEM 2.5" tailpipe unless you must get new bent pipes.

I'd go Bassani! Honestly, everyone has Flowmaster's or Magnaflow's which are nice but Bassani has a nice sound. Pricier maybe but different. I like bieng a bit different with stuff like this, probably why I got JBA system for the truck and Spintech's for the car.

I'd look into the roush offroad.

if your choice is between the 2 you mentioned then I'd go with the bassani

if you are worried about rust then use some steel wool (0000 grade) and then some BBQ grill paint and you'll be fine

That's what I had planned!

I guess I never should have doubted the Bassani. I never heard anything bad about them, so it must be a quality system.

My vote's with magnaflow, but I'd never put a cat-back on my vehicles, waste of money when you can build your own setup for much cheaper.

Do they make a Roush Off-Road for a 2000 Expedition? I'm quite sure aside of Mustangs, the only other Ford vehicle they fit is the 04 - 08 F150.
