My personal opinion is that it's not worth it. A lot of companies have been doing this to the domestic vehicle market. Dynatech, Kook, American Racing, etc. It's ridiculous. OBX makes some really nice headers that are cheap. They ARE made in China. However, don't let that scare you, they are the SAME materials and design. There have been a lot of people on forums that took a chance on them and couldn't believe how great they were and how nice they were for the money. If you look on Ebay, you can find them for around ~$500. If you'd rather go with something else, more expensive though, go with Pacesetters. OBX or Pacesetters would be a great choice. Remember, you'll need a custom tune to go along with the long tubes. Long tubes tend to lean out the A/F.

Actually when you break it down, they come out about even, dollar per hp.

Which long tubes did you get? Are you trying to tell me there is a 30hp difference between shorties and long tubes?

I stand corrected. I didn't realize Pacesetter had their pricing like that. I can tell you that most companies are usually double or close to it for long tubes vs shorties.

Those Dynatech longtubes you posted in the link will give you about 30hp & 35lbs torque, and a hell of alot more sound. Thats what they're for.

If you take the time to really look into it you'll spend a hell of a lot more for shorties than long tubes, especially pacesetters. They're cheaper than most and still a great product but if you look anywhere you will find that shorty headers are more expensive than long tubes.

Seriously? Post up some links to back that up ... I've never seen any pair of shorties more money than the same brand and coating long tube.

That would be hard for me to justify on these trucks considering theres only a couple of brands (pacesetter and that whole dynatech system) that have long tubes for late model trucks. And of course, the pacesetters would have to be the only exception to what i said about pricing but their shortys are'nt a significant amound less than the longtubes to even justify buying them. but if you look into some of the other brands that make shorty headers for late model trucks (edelbrock, JBA, gibson, flowtech, thorley, BBK and hooker) they all have short tube headers ranging in the 400+ range and some of the higher end JBA's getting to over 900. in my opinion the long tube pacesetters are pretty much the best deal you can find and dont waste your money on the ceramic coating, buy the painted for 280, sand the paint off and spray them with a coat or two of ceramic paint from the auto parts store. i did that on my last truck and never had any problems

Hey was it worth adding long tube headers? Do the Pacesetter Headers leak?
I'm think of buying long tube headers, but I hear bad things about headers.
I'm looking for deep sound and more power for my Mark LT.
