I'll probably go with bullets since I've heard nothing but good things about them. Once I get those put on, what headers would be the best bang for the buck?

Bullets and headers, ah man that will be one loud system

Pacesetter is a great LT header for the price it is. If you have over 1 grand look into the Dynatech LTs with hi-flow cats included.

Well I'm looking at putting $2k-around $2.5k into my truck and wanted to start with exhaust. It's a 1999 with only 86k miles and with the way i take care of it it should last 200k+. Putting some money into it shouldn't hurt. I was thinking exhaust, headers, CAI, programmer, bigger spark plug wires, and whatever else I can get with whats left over.

Sounds good. Sounds like your looking to get performance from this truck. So stay away from the chambered mufflers and stick to the direct flow ones such as Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa..

Nope, straight through, one of the loudest mufflers out there.

Awesome. Well hopefully I'll have all that done by within the next month or two. Is it actually worth it to spend $1500 on the dynatech header system? What kind of hp/tq numbers should i see from just that?

Well they will last forever, and look great forever, and coming with hi-flow cats already mounted its a sweet deal. 30 h/p & 35lbs torque gains from the Dynatechs.

alright. Well I'll probably end up going with the dynatechs into a bullet muffler. Can't decide whether I want a y pipe or an x pipe, but will probably end up going with 3.5 inch slant cut tips. I'm hoping that sounds really sweet.

Longtubes into a single exhaust isn't too healthy. If your going with the headers you should definitely run true duals, so X pipe it and run two bullets. All the flow your going to gain with the LTs and cats running a single exhaust, wont sound too great and will be somewhat restrictive to power, 2.5" true duals will fix that.

Well that would make sense. Don't know why i didn't think of that . I'm still learning about performance parts and deciding how I want to upgrade my truck. How much do you think the header and exhaust system should run me if I have a shop do it? Probably close to 2 grand i'm thinking.

No problem. Its best to ask all questions than to go ahead with it and find out.

Well the Dynatechs with cats is around $1200 I believe, Dynomax Bullets are around $40 each, and exhaust tips all vary depending on style/material but the average price is $35 each, a quality built X pipe ( Magnaflow's X pipe ) is about $70, and shop labor for installing and mandrel bending your system will vary $200 - $300. Mine was $230.

So totaled up, your looking at $1,420 in parts/components, and about $1,720 installed.
