MBRP or Magnaflow???

I'm in the market for a single side exit cat-back exhaust and I don't want anything too loud at cruising speeds. I don't know much about it but what do yall think about MBRP or magnaflow? Or is there another good brand to consider? Thanks

well i'll tell you what we think about MRBP, dont do it, second ill tell you what most of us think about cat backs, dont waste money just buy a muffler and a tip from the ehxuast shop when you go to have to put it on, that way itll be cheaper on you and you dont have to spend hours down there cuttin and messin with gettin the old exhaust out, then puttin it back in those hangers, just go with a 14" magnaflow si/so and buy a nice tip from your muffler shop and he can do it in like 30 minutes for half the price of a catback

we really need to make a button that we press that says this because alot of people ask about cat backs and most of us say dont buy them cuz its a waste of money, ive said this exact same thing probably 10 times now

I agree with fella

I really think you'd be happy with a 14" Magnaflow just replace the stock monster muffler and put you a tip on there if you'd like. That's what I did before I installed my true dual setup, was only $120 for the Maggie swap out, gratuity included!

performancepeddler.com has great prices and FREE shipping!

Depending on what "too loud" is for you, you might want to look into the 18" magnaflow, but stay away from MBRP, and don't waste your money on a cat back.

i couldn't be happier with my MBRP SI/SO. $430 shipped from PTP Click Me

fit and finish is excellent and the sound is great. deep and rumbly without being obnoxious.

unless you're mechanically handicapped, the install is a breeze. took me less than an hour without jacking the truck up to removed the old exhaust and install the new.

if you don't have anMBRP exhaust, I don't really know how you can form an opinion. every owner on here that actually owns one, loves it.

A very good friend of mine has that on his truck and you're right he loves it. Just wasn't quite the sound I was looking for. Plus the price tag is more than I paid for my true duals!

I recall a member on here who regretted wasting money on the MBRP due to the weird sound it gave off.

I went to my local muffler shop and they installed 2.5" stainless true duals with super 44's, (2) One for each header and just bought flowmaster tips and it sounds and performes much better. I recomend not buying the kit. It is not a true dual anyway. Your muffler shop should know what to do.

Magnaflow.

As far as which Magnaflow system... I have the 3" Cat-Back SI/SO. It's exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure headers all the way back would get better performance, but I wasn't looking to spend $1000+

If you just want the sound, then yeah... just replace the muffler. Cat-Bat system is sound with some better performance. Headers back is best performance.

Depends on how much you want to spend... like pretty much everything else in the world.

that would be whitecrystal. it was just too loud for his tastes, which as i'm sure you know, is a personal preference thing. it doesn't make the system a bad choice.

as with any mod, cost is an issue. after seeing mgp32's corsa system, i had my heart set on it. then i saw the price. i couldn't spend almost a grand on a catback. the price i paid for the MBRP is only a little more than the magnaflow SI/SO. dealer's choice.

f'n reading my mind again Ty but same here! I would really like to hear a start up, idle, and some revs of true dualsed super 44s. That was gonna be my original system until I decided on the 11" bodies. I still got the mufflers & I dont wanna have to get them installed temporarilly to hear what it would sound like

Yes that would be me. I do not like the sound at all. I can't wait to get rid of this exhaust. This is the worst mod I have gotten for my truck.
When I can afford to I will replaced it with either a Roush,Banks or Magnaflow !
MBRP exhaust is to quiet and has a funny sound when taking off. Also drones bad at 55-65.
Do yourself a favor and get anything but the MBRP.
