Would the power be the same with an X-piped 2.5" Magnaflow true dual exhaust, as it would with the 18" SIDO catback? (15749)

I really want that true dual "growl" that SIDO's dont give. Thanks.

 

Yes, it will make better power, the rule of thumb is a x-pipe is at least 5hp over a non-balanced system. A si/do system is a waste IMO, why would you want to have a y-pipe, into a muffler that is essentially a y-pipe?? I instantly felt a torque and midrange difference from a si/do system to the true duals.

2.5" or 2.25" pipes?

 

2.5" Is what I have, 2.25" is sufficient, but I choose the 2.5", due to the shop I use doesn't offer mandrel bent, so its all crush bent, which causes a loss of diameter in the bends.

 

A si/do performs better than a true dual on a N/A engine imo, my experience. My truck lags compared to how my friends stock F150 does ( 06 5.4 all stock ) but once mid & high end rpm kicks in my truck pulls hard & rumbles great.
