so i got pulled over yesterday, oh and i busted for my intake

The CHP officer gave me a fix it ticket for my "CGS Intake system". he said something about the emitions and plus the intake is illegal. i didnt know the intake was illegal!!!. anybody know this? here it is in the picture.

i was driving down a major street when i noticed a CHP car in front of me in the next lane. so i turned the music down and put my switch box under my seat. he got behind me anyway and rolled the lights on me.

i was nervous because this is the 1st time i get pulled over since i've had my truck slammed.

he walks up and ask for the license and what not. then he says
"step out of the vehicle and pop the hood". im thinking "oh great he's gonna tow my truck". he tells me to have a seat in my truck while he takes a look. he comes back and says "what else have you done to the engine besides the intake?" i told him "thats is, its stock". thats a lie but screw him.

he says, "the intake is illegal and i gotta give you a fix it ticket for that"
then he says, to pop the bed and takes a look in there. all my tanks and compressors are underneath and i have nothing in the bed. anyway, finally he says "im not gonna mess with you on the bags since i know its probably a show truck but you gotta get that intake out of there and your tint windows"

I Aint Taking Shhhhyyyiat Off.

When he told you to "step out of the vehicle and pop the hood" i would have told him to "get bent, or get a warrant."

I second that, you were under no obligation to do so. Odds are he wouldn't have wanted to wait on the warrant over something like that. That's Cali for ya huh?

Gotta love it. Having any exterior modifications = extra harassment by the po-po. Sucks, but true.

I got a ticket for "my" music while sitting at the light, long story short, the guy calls in backup, asks me if I have a pound of meth in my car, asks my 100 lb cute little girlfriend TWICE if she had weapons in her purse, and did an unlawful search inside my vehicle.

An hour later, he also asks after he ahnds me my intake "what kinda intake you got?"

Mind you, I was SITTING at a light...no reason to think I have engine mods, but since I had wheels/tires and a drop he busts my *****. I told him nothing, even though I have a custom home made setup knowing he wouldn't know the difference...

I always try to warn people from CA when buying an intake....it must be CARB certified. People on here love the S&B and AF1 intakes, along with others, but most of them are not CARB certified and therefore illegal in CA. Long tube headers and high flow cats also fall in the same category.

The K&N FIPK is the best intake that is legal in CA. It comes with a CARB sticker of approval, you put it on the intake system, so when you pop that hood he'll see the sticker immediately and wont hassle you.

yeah, your intake is probably illegal because of emissions, everything you put on your car has to be CARB certified.

How can an intake be against emissions? That makes no sense to me personally....

it doesn't have a certain "CARB certification" sticker.

Man I love Texas! My cousin has a dodge with 2 15s in it and we had it full blast at a light next to a cop, he just looks over and signals for us to turn it down, we did.

It's easy. Get a K&N intake, put the stock intake back on so they can check it off and you can return it back to the intake, or get a CARB sticker made. However the best option for you would be to just move. California's laws are ridiculous. Just for example ... Springfield Amory's XD can be bought there but you cannot buy the Bitone version which is just a stainless steel slide. Go figure ...

#1. Move? im a hoodstar from Cali and this is where ima die.

#2. Ive also been ina sutuation where im blasting my music out the window and a cop pulls up next to me and says with his hands to turn it down and doesnt bother to pull me over. it depends on the cop mood or if he's bored, he'll pull ur *** over.

#3. if i didnt comply with the cop about popin my hood, he probably would have coped an attitude and would have walked around the whole truck and gave me tickets for everything visable that is illegal, which would then be more expensive than just a fix it ticket for the intake..... BEEN There DONE That.

#4. i said it when i bought the truck brand new in 2002 and i'll say it again in 2008, screw the cops. haha.

... Man i get pulled over at least 8 times a year. i've gotten a fix it ticket cuz the freaking license plate light was out. Pigs,,, i mean Cops pull me over for DWM (Driving While Mexican). and the 1st question is ALWAYS... and i mean ALWAYS "do you have any warrents?" and the next one is "ever been arrested?, got any drugs or weapons in the vehicle?". Then they ask for my license and what not and when they see im CLEAN, they gotta bust me for something stupid....

like a blown out license plate light. screw the cops. i got into a bar brawl where there was 7 guys against only me. i did nothing they was mad about a girl that was paying attention to me and not them. the cops??? they sat back and watched the whole thing like it was UFC.

Screw the Cops. i baught a gun and i keep it in the house.
