4.6Liter V8 - get a good sound by ONLY installing a Flowmaster 50 muffler??

I would not choose the 50 series if in a quest for "deep" sound. I currently have a DF50 and it only sounds relatively "deep" only at highway speeds. DF40 probably would be better in yielding that deep sound. The original 40 might be too much to handle though, I'd choose carefully before actual installation.

i have the original 40 i love it. perfectly loud not that loud until you get on the gas

Darren, Love the way your truck sounds. I just bought a 2008 4.6 and would like to know what excatly you did to yours. Also the approximate cost.

Yeah man its tough!! Seems like the more I learn and hear, the harder it is to decide on a brand / model, and stick with it. Probly gonna take a few months

It has only taken me 4 years and 6 different exhaust set-ups to find what I what. Just have the system made, once the pipes are ran, it's alot cheaper to swap mufflers over and over again.

Thank you very much. I had 2.5" true duals mandrel bent with a quick fabbed X pipe, Magnaflow 11" body mufflers part #11366, tailpipes exiting side exit with 4x18 inch Magnaflow rolled tips part #35117.

Cost for mufflers: $138.44

Cost for tips: $110

Cost for exhaust build & install: $230

Overall invested: $478.44
