4 or 2 cats

a lot of people talk about the front cats and rear cats, unless they are in line with each other then i only have 2 cats, right after the manifolds on the Y pipe. I might not be vehicle savy but i only see 2. Im only asking cause im getting ready to replace them with high flows, is this a good idea? Wont really hurt my engine will it?

they only had 2 cats starting in 2005. no it shouldnt hurt your engine at all as long as it is all put back together properly.

i dont kno about the 04 and up but if u only see 2 then u may only have two.. do some searching here. this place is swarming with hi flow discussions.. you cant go wrong with hi flows (maggies).. depending on how many miles u have i would replace ur o2 sensors also while your there.. what about the rest of your exhaust.. is it stock or modified..

I did mine on the 98'. It is worth well worth it. I think on the 06+ they had some with 4 cats and some with 2. Just depends when your truck was made. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

2005.5+ trucks only have two cats. Installing hi-flow cats wont hurt it. It will louden it up some and unleash some high end power.

i have a magnaflow exhaust on there right now, and i would like to have it a little louder so everyone has been telling me to put some high flows on there. Ive only got 26000 on the motor so ill probably leave my 02 sensors in there
Oh, and my truck is an 06

If memory serves me, most of the newer trucks have 2 cats, the trucks that came with the "California emissions package" have 4 cats.

Swap to the two hi-flows, and that it. No sensor b/s.
