Question How much for Cats?

Hi Yall!

Thay are coming off a 2001 Screw 5.4

****,

that is a GREAT deal! My only concern is, my set up is a true dual from the cats back with 2 1/4 pipe. I saw that your cats are a 2 1/2........
Having to reduce post cat back to 2 1/4...... I am not sure what type of impact that would have......

gman...

if ur staying with 2.25 then yea maybe mine arnt for you.. i dont kno what impact it will have performance or sound wise.. never really thought about it.. your just going to increase the velocity post cats but its senseless to do that.. just stick with 2.25

Yeah,
I already did the system except for the CATS. I am currenty running duel straught pipes.
I am not planning on putting a muffler on. Just the new hi-flo cats and "Redneck it" (straight pipes) all the back.....
I am not sure if this will give any performance gains. I just did it for the SOUND....

I called a few scrap yards locally and the going rate was $180 to $240, no one would give me a firm quote until they saw them. I traded mine out for about $200 worth of labor on my exhaust setup, let my muffler guy keep them, and he only charged me $160 to install them, the true duals, tips, x-pipe etc.

Platinum to be exact! Anyone that's been shopping for wedding/engagement rings knows the value of platinum! I wouldn't want any less for my truck, but my wife got stuck with white gold.

Ok, I called 7 different salvage yards in the Dallas Fort Worth Metro-plex and they all said they would have to see them, but the ballpark price they gave me was 15.00 to 25.00 each.......?????? A far cry from what I was hoping for! Does anyone know of a place in the DFW metro-plex that might give me a better price?

Thanks in advance!
