Question What's the best intake?

I installed my Airaid back in '05...Is this outdated?
What's out there that will give me the most bolt-on horsepower?

Nothing is going to gain you so much more to offset the price, get a set of headers or a tuner, they are worth the $$$.

Well do you have headers?? If not look into a set, or you could always re-gear as well, that will give it more go.

I guess headers would be the next logical choice. Have recomendations as to what to buy?

You can get pacesetter quick trip long tubes for less than $300, that would be the best value.

To answer your question, AF1 would be the best performing intake

I think the best intake, as far as power numbers, is the AF1 but it's also the most expensive. I think the S&B is the best intake out there though. It's an enclosed design so it'll protect the filter, it's cheaper, and it puts down nearly the same power numbers. Both of these are going to need tunes to correct for the A/F mixture. I'd suggest getting a custom tuned Xcal2 or Xcal3 from Justin at VMPTuning. Here is the link ...

The only other bolt ons that I'd recommend, short of a full exhaust system, is UDPs (Underdrive Pullies) and E-Fans (Electric Fans). Word of the wise though, do NOT buy the E-Fans from Troyer Performance. A lot of people are having problems with their kits and TP is not doing anything about it. A member here by the name of "Josiah" bought one of their kits and will be able to tell you the same thing. There a few threads on here about how to build your own E-Fan kit which will be cheaper and most importantly a better and more reliable kit.

Pacesetter makes some pretty decent stuff. I wouldn't be worried about buying one of their products.

yeah pacesetter is nice lots of people here have them and alot of people get them from summitracing.com because its a good price. they also come coated if you want and i believe in ss too

efans, yeah dont bother buying a kit, make your own. about half the people who bought kits ended up replacing every part that came with the kit
