S&B and Magnaflow Installed! Pics!

All I can say is wow. That monster OEM exhaust is a piece of crap. I got the Maganflow 16613 installed and it sound exactly like I wanted. It could be a little louder but time will tell with this thing. Here is a pic of it mounted and I included a pic of the space between the spare and the pipe. Do you guys think I should wrap the pipe in header tape? I bolted the whole system on, no leaks and tighter than hell. I have a sound clip but I can't figure it out yet. lol. I know you guys already know what this thing sounds like anyway.

Here is the S&B intake. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow so I passed on doing the write up. The difference in throttle response on the 4.6L is outstanding. I have alot more low end power so far as I can tell. Not going to waste money on a dyno just yet. Of course, I haven't driven it very far yet either. Will post more as it comes up.

Both look great and I'm sure it sounds awesome. You can go to http://tinypic.com/ to host the video and then just post the link here.

I am going to have to find a better way to make videos. My camera didn't capture the sound at all. Odd. I am going to visit a friend today who has a digital video camera, I will see if he will let me make a video of it.

Well I got to drive it a little bit tonight. Went and got gas (insert OMFG here) and went to my friends house. While I was at the gas station a guy asked me "you got a 350 under the hood?" I just smiled and said no. I could have been an *** but he was really interested and kinda young so I gave him a break and eductaded him properly. I told him it was Hemi. j/k. I told him the truth. He said it sounded like my truck had *****. Good compliment in my book.

My friend was putting fascia and soffit on his house so I didn't bother about the camera since he was already in a bad mood. He had hit himself in the kneecap with the claw of a hammer; had to hurt like a b****. I ended up making a beer run and helping him out with the house for a few hours instead. Good times, cold beer and a hammer.

I do have one issue though. When I am at a stop and I take off WOT I get a vibration from under the truck; atleast it feels like a vibration. It's not in the steering wheel, it's in the floor board and seat. Is this normal? The intake didn't do it because I test drove it after each mod. I have the vinyl floor, so it may just be alot of noise coming from the muffler. I might have to carpet or dynamat my floorboard. Either way, thought I would check with you guys. I love the sound of the exhaust. Even the 40 or so miles I put on it tonight changed the sound. In the beginning it idled like the normal exhaust; quiet. Now, after some milage, it just purrs a real low deep guteral noise when it idles. It is the perfect sound for me, exactly what I was looking for. I get it on the freeway and open her up and she just screams a low growl. It's friggin sweet.

Now the intake..... I love this mod! So much better throttle response! My truck has some get up and go now. It used to pull great off the line for about 20 feet and then lose its cahoneys, like I was pulling a Tundra or some other dead weight. Now it just keeps pulling.

Overall, I give both these mods 2 thumbs way up

Knee & Hammer ouch! That would p**s me off quite well too

The vibration I believe is just the exhaust. I feel a moderate vibration with my exhaust now. The truck isn't tuned for the true duals so i'll feel it until then.

I noticed my exhaust getting a little louder on each start up the day I got it done. I drove 53 miles that day and started over 10 times. So far since then I reset the trp and now am at 135, so overall there is 188 miles on my exhaust. The mufflers should be fully broken in around 1,000 miles so I look forward to it. The first hundred miles it sure changes fast though huh.

Yeah my next mod is a Gryphon. It needs it badly.

I started mine up after install and reved it up and my neighbor yelled "dayum!" He drives a Nissan Frontier and it has a nice exhaust from the factory but mine is better now.

I think I caught an illness doing these mods. I keep having the urge to go start my truck just to listen to it. :o My wife says I need to go see the Dr.

Is there a cure?

After a few months you should get sick of hearing it. It took me about 3 months for me to quit being in aw for my old Chevys system, my F150 im much more calm about, but thats cause its still quite calm, haven't hit that right volume level sound just yet

You'll probably stop if your gas gauge falls too quick though!
