Darren,

That setup sounds great. Not a thing wrong w/ it. It has a very deep growl and rumble and it sounds very smooth and plenty loud enough when you want it. W/ magnaflow you will not get any of that raspy popping crap that flowmaster gives you, that's why it is so smooth sounding. Yours has a very clean and respectable mean sound. I have the 14" magnaflow oval and it sounds very similar, just not quite as loud as yours. It is smooth and when I get on it, it is there. Your truck has the perfect sound at WOT, and it is not annoying w/ any droning driving down the road otherwise. I am like you guys though, I'd like mine to be just a bit louder at startup/idle, and I'm surprised the 11" mags you have are not louder at idle. Anyway, I think if you go to 2 cats, your truck will be a LOT louder if that's how you want it. I have a flowmaster 40 on my older truck, and a mag on my 04, and I like the magnaflow 14" better as a smoother sound even though it's not quite as loud. One day I might get some hi flow cats or something for mine, because I guess I have 4 cats as well. I'd like to go to 2 hi flows maybe later on. But yours sounds as good as any truck I've heard online anywhere.

Sounds good. I'm surprised you couldn't find anybody to do the cats for you. I've read a lot of placed don't like to do it, but couldn't they treat it like custom window tinting? Just pay cash and they either won't give you a receipt or they will but it won't be official or anything to cover their ***. That or come over here to Ocala, I haven't been given any crap about my cats yet.

Nope no loss what so ever, infact, today I towed a 16' boat that weighed around 2,000lbs, hardly felt it. My rpms are in the same spots they were before too so it looks like economy stayed good with the 2.5" true duals.
Glad to hear everything worked out for you.

Yeah, they all keep saying it wont pass inspection since it came factory with 4 cats. 2005.5+ trucks have only two cats also... which really gets to me. Cant seem to get them to understand that. On any 2005.5+ if they came in with the exact same hi-flow cats, they would install them since it has two, but not my year younger with the only difference, 4 cats..

Any ideas anyone? Only thing I can think of is search for a wrecked 2005.5+ and snag its Y pipe with cats and put it in mine. I dont wanna drive out of my county for exhaust work.

I've heard it will pass if your not producing 420/430 codes. You shouldn't with Magnaflow HF's - There compliant. Actually , you can completely remove your rear cats and just run stock front converters and still get passed emissions. Just make sure all your monitors have run before you go in.

You'll be alright

Yeah, but my problem is since they know it came factory with 4, they wont touch it unless 4 go back in. I explained over and over to the shops i've been to and they dont seem to wanna believe me. I'd like to hack my rear cats out though and clamp in some piping to fit. Then maybe go to another shop and tell them to do what I want.

I though you had the high flows already installed. I just did that myself. But yea that's not easy without having LT's. You could gut your forward cats/install the High Flows right behind them after offing the stock rears. Guys are getting around $200 for there old cats now I hear. Anyway, it would give you the appearance of four. Or gut your forwards after the High flows are installed in place of the rears.

My buddys dad thinks its B/S that they wont do it unless 4 go back in. So he told me next time i'm in his other son's area to go ask him. Hes got a auto garage and will probably do the work I want done. We'll see, but the only other thing I can think of is let the 1 shop gut out one set and run the Magnaflow cats.

Yep yep....gut one pair of the stockers, and replace the others with Maggy HiFlows and viola!

Wont have any more hassle with shops trying to take 4 our and replace with two, and you will for sure pass the visual inspection.

I cannot believe you Can't find a place. First three places I went to said they would do it. Guess it is pretty strict around there.

Man if you do find someone that will do it, it makes a huge difference. It was well worth it.

Love it! Sounds great and Looks mean. Just to clarify though, I thought true duals was manifold back not after the Y pipe? Is that done to get the same effect as having a cross over?
