Exhaust Question
Exhaust Question
Hello all,
I have a 2008 FX2 Sport F-150 (4.6L V8).
Im going to be getting a dual exhaust setup here in the next week or two. Now im aware of the 2 setups SI/DO or the actual 2x SI/SO exhaust setups. Now is there a big difference between loudness of those two setups or is one better for my smaller engine, since i do not have the
5.4L engine? Any advice or opinions would be great.
Thanks

true duals witha balancer pipe (X or H) will yield great gains if the pipe is the correct diameter.
I am pretty sure 2.25 or 2.5 pipe is the prefered size for N/A trucks
as far as loudness I don't think it would be noticeable between the 2 engines, it you want it louder put on some larger tips

I installed MBRP "Cool Duals" on my 2007 SCrew 6½'. 3½" from Cat back to muffler, SI...2½" DO exit out the side behind wheels. Sounds awesome!! Had an '08 Harley Edition start up next to me and could hardly hear the Harley start. Absoultely love it
SI/DO will have the plain single muffler sound, true duals will have that real dual sound ( see my video in sig ). I would go with 2.25" since you have the 281ci block.
