You go ahead and try to keep impressing the toothless hoe's where you live. Been there done that, doesn't get you one inch ahead in life. You just keep rolling your fart can truck around town and I'll go to my beautiful home and give it to my hot @$$ Wife again. She loves it when I toss her around in bed. She has all her teeth and a Bachelors in Business Administration.

What you got? Besides a loud truck?

If your Magnaflow is new then give it a month or so, it will 'break in' and get louder...

Glad I read this thread.....

I too just had true dual Magnaflows, along with an X pipe, installed on my brand new F150 about a week ago. It sounds freaking bad *** ! ......but not that loud inside of the cab.
Of course my cab is so tight, it's hard to close the doors with the windows up ! (well, not HARD hard... you just have to follow through with your pull... like any brand new vehicle I guess... but you get the point)

So anyway, I had completely forgotten that mufflers have a "break-in period". Heck, I think I only have about 150 miles on mine.
I'd like it to be somewhat louder.... but maybe a few thousand more miles will make that difference, huh ?
If not, I'd totally consider removing the 4 cats that are on it, and going with a pair of the Magnaflow, high-flow cats. An additional advantage to that, is that in 5 years, when my truck becomes due for its first smog inspection, if the Magnaflow cats are worn out (clogged), I'll have a "like new set" of factory cats in my garage ;-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, only one thing I want to ask;
My truck sounds deepest, loudest, and the best, at about 1800 rpm's.... or in other words, when I'm getting on it just a little. Then, when it drops down to 1400 or 1500 (like cruising through town at 35 mph) it goes away. When it goes above 2000 rpm's, it also pretty much goes away.
So, I hear guys talk about "always wanting to get on it, because it sounds so good"..... but I barely have to get on it, for it to sound the best. I don't know what it will sound like when I stand on it, and push it to 2500, 3000, or 4000 rpm's, because I haven't ran it that hard yet !
Okay, I guess I'm just rambling. I probably need to break in both the truck, and the exhaust system, before I will really know what to expect, huh ?
Hmmm,
Fish
Yep them mufflers got a thousand or 2 miles to go until fully broken in. After broken in you will hear it a little more on those rpms. I cant wait to get my 11" Magnaflows in.
Hey Chris, I used to have the same problem with the tone only being around 1800 rpms. Granted, I only have a SI/SO Dynomax Ultra Flow, but its still the same principle. I finally figured out I wanted mine louder (after 2000 miles or so) so I had it dumped in front of the axle with a turndown. MUCH more tone throught the RPM range, sounds like an old 4 barrel carb down low, and still rumbles past 2000 rpms. I love how it sounds, it has a much better rumble in the cab, but doesnt really drone. It's hard to explain, but, if you find that your exhaust is just too quiet for you down the road, its something to consider.
PS: wfin2004- We're all really impressed. Will you please tell us your life story? That is if you have time away from pounding your super hot puerto rican wife and insulting people/ bragging yourself up on an internet forum.
Hey MOford.....
Now this is interesting. So, your saying your pipes (tips) are totally not visible just to stand and look at your truck ? Most people are so caught up on 4" tips ! Triple chrome plated tips ! Super-duper yada-yada tips !
Now the funny thing is, I thought I was the only guy who really didn't give a $#!+ about tips...... then I got my exhast put on, and granted, my tips are just painted bar-b-q black.... but I still think they look "a little bit" cool :-)
So, just when I was starting to like them, I'd have to turn around and hide them ? Better looks.... or better sound..... decisions, decisions :-)
Fish
Nope, you cant see any trace of an exhaust pipe on my truck unless you get underneath it. I like it; it makes it look "clean", but I also didn't want tips because they get mud caked on them, rust, etc. I personally love the sound, but be aware that it will be a good amount louder in the cab. If thats what you're looking for though, it's a really cheap and easy way to get that last bit of sound from your exhaust.
