I think I made a mistake
I loved the sound of my last truck ( Silverado with a 6.0L, Magnaflow cats & Super 44 mufflers ) I got the same mufflers for my F150 to true dual, i've been listening to alot of Magnaflow on youtube and I always knew Magnaflow was a better performing muffler than any Flowmaster, and i'm really liking the sound Magnaflow has with the F150. I'm thinking of going back and refunding and ordering the Magnaflow DI/DO 11" body, or two single 11" bodies. I heard a video of one them and I was quite impressed, awhile back I heard one but the quality was awful, made it sound raspier than it was.
I wanna stay with the dual pipes, does anyone here have the 11" body muffler? In the future I would like to swap to two Magnaflow cats so i'm wondering if that would be a tad too loud, I dont mind loud, as long as its a deep tone loud. I dont like the rasp and crackle loud like 2.25" straight pipes, my old trucks sound level was perfect.
Now if I remember right, all Magnaflow DI/DO mufflers have internal X? I miss that sound my old truck had but I dont want the accessive drone it gave, or low end loss. Any advice is appreciated.
Heres my old truck so you get an idea of the sound i'm after.

Take a look at these and see what you think of the sound. This is the MBRP duals for the F150. I have had Flowmaster on past trucks and heard the Magnaflow and this is by far my favorite. I have the single 3 1/2 inch system on mine. Just another option.

Your old truck was a beast. But you know its gonna sound different no matter what. 6.0 and its a Silverado. Just get a couple of Magnaflows and a balancing pipe of somekind, it will be deep and somewhat loud. I swear im about to do this and I think you should to if you didn't mind the loudness, but get 2 big Dynomax bullets so its a little louder than flowmasters (not a small bullet a long bullet so same tone but not as loud). That would sound deep and would rumble.
But if your really in to magnaflow just do it, they shouldn't cackle, and yes the DI/DO has a built in X-pipe.

Bullets, I dont know, I would like to try the Magnaflows before those, I came close to buying some of the race bullets before though, but I think i'm more for the case mufflers. Would definitely like to hear a video of yours after you get that done though.
Andy-jr. has highflow cats and a single 14" Magnaflow with duals after... Not even true duals and his truck still has a nice, loud rumble. I was honestly impressed he was running a Magnaflow muffler the first time I heard his vid. I'm guessing those high flow cats really helped with the sound.
True duals, high flow cats, H-pipe, 2 14" Magnaflows and a couple big tips should have you a MEAN sounding truck!!

I want to keep with 2.5" pipes, and with possibly the DI/DO 14" similar to Boxerguy's system. I dont want to go with 2.25" because of all the popping that can happen, so do you think my economy would still remain in the 14 - 15 with dual 2.5" pipes and the DI/DO 14"?
And would you recommend the true dual 14" mufflers over the DI/DO? Like everyone else I want my low end and economy to remain well, but I want some nice loud rumble like Andy.JRs truck
For sure man, his truck sounds very good. Thats what i'm after. Im starting to think the 11" might be a bit too much and I should stick with the 14".

The only difference between the two will be the sound. The DI/DO Magnaflow has an internal X-pipe... Probably won't sound quite as aggressive as the H-pipe with 2 14" Magnaflows, but it'll still sound very nice. Darren, you can't go wrong with either of the systems you're looking at running. They'll both perform and sound great! I'm anxious to hear your truck actually!!
I wouldn't go with the 14" muffler. It's pretty quiet, IMO. Magnaflows are on the quiet side, IMO. It sounds like you like the same type of sound as I do. I think you should either do the Magnaflow 11" SI/SO (X2) or the Dynomax Race Bullets. I ran true duals, 2.5" tubing, H-Pipe, and Dynomax Race Bullets and the sound was awesome. It was VERY deep, pretty loud, overall great sound.
I don't think you can go wrong with either of the set-ups you're considering. Your low end and economy will be there with both systems... As long as you keep your foot out of it!

That certain sound from true duals is hard to resist so i'm gonna look into the dual muffler setup. Just making sure of things because I remmeber my Chevys exhaust day, lost a tiny bit of power & economy dropped 0.4, wasn't happy about it but its sound made me happy

Within the next week or two I will be getting the exhaust done. Gotta refund the Super 44s for two Magnaflows but it should be done. Cats im holding off for a little until my exhaust guy will tell me he will do the work, he wants to put 4 in, I only want two..
Also a offset inlet & centered out muffler will work out fine too right? I like those muffler configurations because it tucks up under the truck a little more and reduces the chances of ever scraping anything. Since its straight threw I imagine it just turns, goes straight, then turns to the outlet?
Thanks!

- Well about performance anyway. With duals "BEFORE" the mufflers you'll loose low end w/stock tune know matter how you slice it. Question is - Can you tune it back in ? You'll have to do something, your not tuned for that much flow.
If your not running LT's with that set-up, a speed-shop may be able to dial it in perfectly. That's when they sound good, Improved torque/power. Also, when there tuned correctly for your set up, you won't get that drone.
Good Luck

I was thinking the 11" but then I thought that may be too loud after hi-flow cats. Can you verify me that the 11" and 14" are very similar in sound and the 11" is just a tad louder? Would the 11" being louder have a deep tone like the 14" and have a somewhat hearable idle?I disagree with most of yuh

I improved a little though, crossed out the Flowmaster.
- I'm running a Flowbastid (50 series) right now. You would have to speak with a dyno tuner in your area for advice. I'm curiouse myself...I just know with a stock tune you'll misplace torque with too much flow - or even canned tunes for that matter (unless you data log/ mail order).
alrighty then thats good to know. Since I dont tow much and im not on highway too often, I think i'll go ahead and do it and then later this summer get a CAI and tune. Just really wanting that true dual sound again, and with Magnaflows.
Im almost set, now the question is, 11" or 14", aaand, 5x8 or 4x9.. Lifes too difficult anymore
Does anyone have any recommendation for both? which case specs is the better one to use for my application? I dont want real quiet but I want it deep toned.
