Getting my cats cutout

found a shop that will cut all 4 of my cats out. Is there anything that I should be worried about when cutting them out? As in o2 sensors or anything? Would it be better to run no cats and just a muffler or 2 hi flow cats and a muffler? Thanks.

Run the 2 high flow cats and put the 02s back as close as you can to where they were.

Oh,,and you do know people are getting about 200 bucks for there old cats don't you?
So,,,don't let them keep them unless it's coming off the price of the job.

Yeah I was planning on cashing my old cats in. Unless the shop wants to do an even trade.
So I should by 2 hi flow cats and have the shop weld them in and put the o2 sensors as close as they can to the original spot?

Yes,
that's how most people do it in order to not get a SES light.

If you're in SoCal, you will likely fail the smog visual if your front pre-cats are missing. (I state "likely" because you might stumble across a lazy smog tech)

So either you need to "know someone" who will look the other way (becoming tougher and more expensive to find) or just gut the pre-cats and leave the shell so that it appears they are still there.

My truck is no longer registered here in California. So no SMOG for me.

I would run the hi-flow cats rather than no cats, these engines dont like no cats, its like running 4 Flowmasters lol, it will get a bit lean. The hi-flow cats help it sound much louder while getting the smog stuff done and pressure in the exhaust done.

Troyer Performance has them but also has the knowledge about them. Since yours is 2001 I believe yours has the O2 sensors mounted in the cats so you will need O2 mounted Hi-Flows. I would get the part # from Troyer, but buy from Summit Racing cause they are easier to deal with and will get it shipped right out to ya.

I believe this is the cat you will need though, but your better off double checking with them.

The part number you need is 94306 if you go with the Magnaflow cats. I bought mine from performancepeddler.com and I love them. Check out the link in my sig for a sound clip.
