Question expert intake advice

Guys, I'm midway through my modifications list and am comming closer to the finish line (custom tune for all my mods).

I've heard a lot about intakes making the motor run lean without a custom tune. Do all of the prefered intakes require a tuner to prevent this? or are cirtain ones completely safe without a tune?

should i buy the intake last and install it along with the tuner when i get my tune?

Thx

Complete:
LT headers
Highflow cats/y pipe
Magnaflow 16612

on order:
Troyer E-fans

To do List:
Underdrive pullies
other minor parts swaps if i get ballsy
CAI ??
Custom Tune

I would definitely wait until the day you get it tuned before installing a CAI. And the modifying never ends

Yes, install the intake after the custom tune, to be safe.

Airaid

Check out this:
Ford F-150 2004 04 Airaid Modular Intake Tube 400-940 Airaid ...
AutoAnything.com

That's what I have been running on my pretty much bone stock truck...
About a month now!! Works GREAT and looks good too!!
Pair it with a K&N for your stock box and your good to go!!

Airaid MIT

If you go with the Airaid MIT and a drop in K&N or Airaid filter do you have to do any tuning? Will the engine still run lean on ('05 5.4)?
Thanks
