how to seperate exhaust pipe??

Trying to seperate exhaust pipe after y pipe where it clamps together and then to the extension pipe before the muffler. I can get the pipe to move about an inch or two back and forth and it will rotate 90 degrees each direction, but I cannot get it go come apart. is it stuck on the impression from the clamp? How do I get past this without actually cutting the pipe? Or do I have to. Thanks!

I always cut it - Just cut it. What are doing anyways ? Adding a cat back or something? The cheapest place I found for pipe if you need some is the muffler shops. They sold me a 4' piece of 2.5" for $12 - They will even make you a new Y pipe if you need it.

I would just save the hassle & cut it. It probably needs some force to get it removed out of the pipe.
