Good $$ for old Cats.

Finally got my maggie hiflows installed. Love them.

Took the old precats and cats to a local scrap dealer.

CHACHIINNNNGG!!! gave me $200 for them

The new ones only cost me $140 all in.

I asked him what new model truck's cats are worth or aftermarket cats..Not even worth the gas for the trip to the yard, $8.

Cats have precious metals inside them and have been the source of many thefts. Thieves have been cutting them right from under people's vehices and selling them at scrap yards.

They usually damage them when they remove them, usually with a sawzall and cut your o2's an other wires. An to everyone who is turning in there cats for money, I would highly recommend you take the time to open them up yourself and take the platinum out and bring it to a jewelry store. They will give you the highest price possible. If theres 28grams (1 oz) of platinum in there, thats just above $2,000 (current price, it changes daily) But im not exactly sure how much platinum is in cats, but i almost promise you you'll get more if you bring to to someone who specializes in buying it. They will give you top dollar, insted of the junk yard.

The platinum is in a microscopic plating. I don't think a jewelry store has the resources to remove it.

The mills that process the cats want them whole. A cut open cat will be worth less than a whole one.

Cheesy, but funny.
I guess I should hawk my stockers and get some hi-flows.
