How much...

...louder did your exhaust get? How long (how many miles) did it take til the system was "broken in"?

Just wondering if my Gibson's gonna get louder over time. I assume it will.

I dont know about gibson but i would assume the same. My mag didn't really get much louder after install, but way louder than stock. It seemed to get deeper though

My maggie took about a week till it stopped getting louder. Settled at a great tone.

Most packed mufflers would need 1,000 miles maximum, but some others have reported differently, possibly due to the less amount of driving. If your truck is your DD then it should happen quite quickly.

On my Silverado's exhaust ( true dual Super 44s ) It was slightly louder sounding and deeper toned after 1,000 miles, and those were chambered mufflers.

My flowmaster super44 took about 2k miles to break in, but its because i drive basically all highway. It got noticeably louder.

My Roush Offroad muffler i bought used, so it was already broken in, and i havent noticed it getting louder (besides when i took the rear cats off )

Borla SI/SO and I originally thought it was pretty tame sounding.. after about 2k miles I was pretty happy, it was deeper and louder.. then it just kept getting deeper and louder until about 5k miles.. LOL... it seems to have reached it's level now and it's pretty much perfect.. Pretty loud on cold start, a sort of deep snarl when on the throttle, howls like a nascar on WOT.

I like the Gibson cause it has that mellow tone. Noticeably different than stock, but not obnoxiously loud like some others. Guess I'll just have to wait and see in the next cpl of weeks.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, cause it seems as though not many others are interested in the Gibsons (side swept anyways).

Gibsons not too popular with the V8 for pretty much that exact reason, too calm and mellow.

I'm seeing that. It's okay though, I got the improved throttle response I was looking for. Guess it makes my truck unique with a "not so popular" system.
