i think i have decided on my last ehaust set up i want to get a single pipe stock size with a magnaflow muffler. i have a flowmaster now with no complaints i just have had it on and off due to wheeling. My question is. will doing this gain me my power back also get the sound out the cab and everyone knows i got a 5.4 v8? which magnaflow is best for me and is this going to get me what i want? this is going on a 2003 ford f150 2 valve 5.4

magnaflows are really quiet. You wont hear it much in the cab, but it also wont be very loud outside.

If you do get one, get one of their smaller mufflers...the 14" would be good.

Yep 14" Magnaflow. I suggest part # 12158http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MPE%2D12158&N=700 +4294922710+4294791975+4294906129+115&autoview=sku

Hmmmm....

> magnaflows are really quiet <

....compared to the stock exhaust ? .....or compared to other aftermarket exhaust systems ?

I'm not looking to be REALLY loud, but I'd like my exhaust to be a little louder, and better sounding, than the stock muffler....

Anyone ?

Thanks,
Fish

magnaflows are quiet at idle, which I really like. I don't need to wake up the neighborhood when I'm parked. When you start the truck up or give it some gas, mine will roar though. Check out my exhaust clips in my sig to hear it. I've got 2 hi-flo cats, and 2 14" round mufflers, all magnaflow.

edit: and mine as definitely gotten louder both at idle/wot over the last two months I've had it

Huh, I haven't seen this Magnaflow vid yet - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9QSM...eature=related

To damn loud for me lol - I just removed my 20" Maggy because it was to loud - I purchased the wrong one, -it's a straight thru, I should have purchased the off-set. - Oh well , who want's it -

It has around 6000 miles on it.

I've posted this info before, but here goes....

I am running about the same truck, '03 5.4. I love my magnaflow setup. I have a friend with a 99 that has a flowmater and I think his truck sounds like it has holes drilled in it. You need earplugs to go 75 mph.

I like the Magnaflow because it recovers HP and torque at all RPM. The sounds is only loud when you hammer the throttle. It's quiet and low toned at cruise.

You can buy a louder exaust, you can find more high end HP, but to me, it is the rigth balance for that model.

I just installed a SS si/do 2.5 inch system on my truck, I must say I am impressed with overall quality and the fit was excellent. I wasn't a fan of running the pipes right out the back, all I had to do was turn the last 2 pieces of the system so the pipes came out behind the tires, worked out great It sounds pretty awesome when you lay into the gas, but has no drone when cruising down the highway, which keeps the wife pretty happy!
